We had such an exciting day learning about the farm! During our morning circle we talked about the different animals that we see on the farm and talked about some of the sounds they make. Then, we lined up to go outside to play with all of our friends. We all did such a great job holding the rope tight today! Thanks to the parking lot closure....we even got to see come construction vehicles on the way!

After we came back inside, we read "Big Red Barn" and got to practice our animal sounds again! We each got to take a turn deciding whether animals were found on a farm or not. We did such a great job placing them on the right side of the chart! Afterwards, we sang "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" and made all the animal noises loud and proud! I think everyone's favorite animal sound was to "oink" like a pig! We sounded just like them!

During Science, we got to make our very own mud! We all got to make predictions about whether we thought pepper, baking soda or water made mud when we mixed it with dirt. We learned that water and dirt make mud, and we all got to feel the mud. We talked about how pigs get all muddy and got to feel what it's like to be them for the day!

During Art, we used the mud we made during science to paint muddy pigs! We used our fingers and popsicle sticks to cover the pink pigs up and get them all dirty. It was so much fun getting to play around in the mud all day!

We really enjoyed playing in centers with our friends a the end of our day! We were all so nice sharing our toys with others. Tomorrow the Awesome Ants can look forward to reading Little Owl's night and learning all about the Forest!

Thanks for sharing!!
