Sensory table: Construction site themed sensory table, with sand, rocks, shovels and different construction vehicles.
- Communication Goals: While playing in the sand, describe the colors you see and imitate the actions of the different objects with peers.
Kitchen: The kitchen area will be open and will have many different foods and kitchen supplies.- Communication Goals: engage in symbolic play, name objects, increase vocabulary, interact with peers
Manipulatives: The lego station will be opened to anyone for our ants to build and create whatever they want.
- Communication Goal: Prompted by a clinician, practice saying prepositions while you are building with legos.
Matching Construction Vehicles: Practice matching construction vehicles to the shadow of them.
- Communication Goal: Talk about the different colored vehicles with peers and clinicians. Clinicians will come around and prompt children with questions about the actions of the vehicles and varied shapes they see.
Trains: The train station will be opened for our ants to practice their colors and verbs.
- Communication Goals: Prompted by a clinician, practice saying verbs and colors while playing with trains.
