ANIMAL HABITATS Center Time

This week, “Animal Habitats,” we will incorporate communication skills during our center time.

Water table: Fill the sensory table up with water and play with animals in the water.

• Communication Goals: While playing in the water, describe what the animals are doing in the water.

Manipulatives: Match cut out pictures of animals and  match each to a picture board.

• Communication Goals:  While matching pictures of animals, practice the sounds animals make.

Kitchen: The kitchen area will be open and will have many different foods and kitchen supplies.

• Communication Goals: engage in symbolic play, name objects, increase vocabulary, interact with peers

Art: Provided with plastic animals and play dough. Clinician will model how to use animals to make play dough impressions of animals.

• Communication Goals:  When making an animal share and talk with your friends about your creation!
