After welcome circle, we couldn't wait to head to the playground. We explored the playground's tunnels, slid down the slide, and made sandcastles in the sandbox.
When we made it back inside, we ate our snack and then transitioned to the carpet for Language Circle. We began by reviewing our colors by talking about our favorite fruits and what colors they are. Next, we read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." We saw the caterpillar eat sooo much food until he became full and tired and wrapped himself in a cocoon. When he woke up, he turned into a beautiful, colorful butterfly.
During Science, we got to watch REAL ants! We each made a prediction, if the ants would eat the rock or the banana and then recorded our results. Then we discussed why the ants ate the banana and didn't like the rock.
We had a messy but fun time during art today with out shaving cream activity. We were prompted to pick the color we would paint with and then swirled paint around with out hands or q-tips. After we decided we were finished with our masterpieces, scraped off the access shaving cream and voila!
After Art, we played in our centers. We played with trains and legos. We sorted pom-poms into cups using our fine motor skills with clothes pins and even played in the kitchen. Some of us enjoyed being read to and looking at books.
Don't forget to look and work on the extension packet we put in your book bag for the weekend. Also, check out our centers and communication forecast for next week!
