Let it Fall!

Today we had a FALLtastic day at camp!

We started off our day outside where we played on the playground, in the sandbox, and slid down slides with our friends!  After we came inside we reviewed our season board and sang our seasons song.  We talked about what colors we see in fall.  We looked at different colored apples, trees and leaves!

After we came in from outside we ate our snack at the table and chatted with our friends.  After we ate snack we  read Let it Fall together!  Let it Fall showed us all the things we do during the fall season.  We talked about apple orchards, pumpkins and leaves falling down.  In the book the children jump in the fall leaves and pick apples with their mom and dad.  At the end of the book the children waited for winter to come with their hats and scarves all ready! After we read our book we matched different colored leaves, apples and trees to our circle time board.  We each took a turn and identified if it was an apple, leaf, or tree and then said which color it was.  After we were all done we headed to our table to participate in our science experiment!

After our language circle we sat at the table and participated in science! We saw what would happen if we added baking soda and vinegar to the center of the apple.  We first added the baking soda and then the vinegar and then we saw lots of bubble come out of the apple!

After science we placed apple slices in paint and stamped them on our paper! We all got to paint with green, yellow and red and made our very own painting with apples. We asked for colors and shared our colors with our friends, it was a lot of fun!

Today during centers we played in the kitchen area along with, trains, legos, books and the sand/sensory tub.  We especially enjoyed stacking and building wieth legos!  We also enjoyed playing with trains and pushing them along the train tracks.
