Today was Day 2 of our Construction theme for the week. We jumped right into singing the "Ant song" and then sang our "Machine song" before heading outside. When we got to the playground, we slid down the slide, played tag and hid in the house so we couldn't be found.
Today during Language circle, we read "Construction Countdown." We reviewed our colors, names of construction trucks, worked on sequencing and reviewed our numbers. Then we each got a turn to build the sandbox that we learned about in our book.
After Science, we had Art. Instead of painting with our fingers or paintbrushes today, we painted with tools, just like REAL Construction workers do! We were asked what color we wanted to paint with and what we were building. We reinforced counting like in our book by counting the bolts we were painting with. As usual, we got really messy but we had so much fun doing it!
During Centers, we built a train track, played in the kitchen, read books with our friends and played in our construction sensory sandbox. We even pointed out our friends on the Ant board.
Today was Parent's Day and our Moms and Dads came and ate lunch with us!
